I love anything Scottish and anything that dates back to the romantic era when a letter was sealed by a wax seal. It makes it feel mysterious and special to me. I found a selection of old wax seal handles at an estate sale recently and knew that I could create something special. So combining my love of Scotland, the Rampant Lion and my new find, my latest piece came to life. I love the intricacy of the small detailed handle and how it can make not only an unique necklace but could also be used to seal your secret message. Wax seals were either a design or an initial placed on a letter as a mark of genuineness or authenticity by being closed with a wafer of molten wax into which was pressed the distinctive seal of the sender.
